Happy International Women's Day!
Firstly, Happy Women's Day! This day is for all the females... may it be successful or unsuccessful. Every woman deserves respect for the sacrifices she makes. She tries to deal with this society which is extremely dangerous for female gender. She leaves her own house to accept and love the other family which is very tough! She gives birth to children. Oh wait! I think without a woman in my life, this article would not have been possible. Absolutely, that's my point. Before I start an article on women's day. I want to tell you something.
Dear Women,
I believe this day is for you. I'm not saying other
days are not made for you but you work everyday giving yourself minimal amount
of time. I want to say, don't feel disgraced if someone behaves badly with you.
Don't ever try to think about sacrificing your dreams. Those are your dreams
and you've right to live them. Don't think about suicides if someone does very
bad with you. Don't give up on your life because of someone who never knew the
real meaning of life. Such cowards don't deserve to live but you don't lose
hope. Fight! Fight against all the evil happenings in this society. You're the
one who gave birth, and you've the right to punish anyone. Be fearless. Be
independent. And last but not the least, it's not important to get married if
don't want to. You were never a liability, you're not and you'll never be
one.
Thank you for reading this small note. Enjoy
this is your day! No more negative thoughts, only positive thoughts.
People talk about feminism, gender equality,
gender violence, and what-not. But how many of us follow what we hear, what we
learn and what we observe? So, today is International Women’s Day. For those
who don’t know what international women’s day is? It is celebrated to convey
love and appreciation towards women for their economic, political and social
achievements. This is why international women’s day is celebrated. But in
modern times, International Women’s day have changed. Now, we don’t only talk
about women who are successful but we also reward ordinary women.
As
compared to earlier times, now, women are greatly contributing to the
development of our society. With improved education and health facility, women
are ahead in every field. Indian society had a transforming phase where mindset
of people has changed. Now, problems like female feticide have decreased and
female child is given equal importance in our society. The horrid problems
which are still glued to female gender are rapes, acid attacks, and male gender
jealousy theory. Rapes and acid attacks are commonly known by people but
jealousy is a new concept in our Indian society.
There
are many recent cases where working women face problems as their spouse are
jealousy of their partner’s success and achievements. In this case, women face
home-related difficulties as their partners help them least and instead of
supporting them, they trouble them. Such cases are a disappointment for
a—developing India. But solution to this is simple. Men should keep their male
ego in control, and without harassing or annoying women they should love and
support them.
In
recent times, women’s freedom has also been a talking point! Young girls are
facing complication in life. Especially, women who like to stay out during
night time. Girls, who roam at night, always hold a nightmare of getting
sexually assaulted. There are many celebrities, ministers and some important
global icons have commented on this topic. But nothing really has changed when
we talk about rapes and sexual assaults happening in our country. Still women
fear whenever they hang out at night with friends or family.
Ultimately,
India has changed but not completely. When we talk about change, it happens, slowly. But this change requires some amount of contribution from your side
too. At the start of this article, I asked, how many of us follow what we hear,
what we learn and what we observe? Daily, we see, women are harassed in front
of our eyes but we tend to ignore, we know something is wrong going on in our
society but we say, “Hum Kya Kar Sakte Hai?” This attitude is a problem. We
need to change it, first.
If
we raise our voice and fight against the wrong-doing and wrongdoers, we would eventually land
up with a solution. For instance, if you see a drunken man physically abusing a
woman or only abusing a woman, you should stop him and say, “What are you
doing?” If you’re shy to fight against that abusive man in front of many
people, just inform police and they will take care of the rest. The example
mentioned just now, is a bigger one and only grown-up men will try to implement
it.
For
college going students, there’s another one. College students now days talk
rubbish about girls they know or they have in their college. If a girl wear a
short dress and comes to college, many boys pass cheap comments about her and
she is indirectly termed a “show-off” girl or boys say, “She is just attracting
attention by showing off!” If you hear such cheap comment, don’t keep quiet,
react to it.
This
reaction of yours matters a lot. It will be your small contribution towards a
change we all need. To stop others from doing such heinous acts to women, we
need to fight for them. Alone one can’t make a change or change social mentality
but if we stand together, as always majority wins!
So,
make a move towards developing a better environment for women.
*I hope you have liked this article and I am
sure you’ll fight for women who need your help.
Thank-you for investing for your time!
Amay Saxena!
PS: To change others mentality, first change yours!

Beautifully written 👌
