Last post of the year - 2017

Firstly, let me inform you, I don’t know what to write. This post is just totally to satisfy myself and for your knowledge, if you don’t know what’s really in my mind. If you already know, it might serve as information to you.
Nothing special happened in this year. Perhaps, I gotta story for my new book which is expected to be released in 2018. I’m hopeful about it. Let’s see how it goes. I haven’t written about social issues for awhile because I was busy with my new book. This year has been a dark year for the art and also artists. Well, everyone knows the famous Padmavati controversy. The movie was expected to come out in theatres by the first week of December, but as we know nothing of that sort happened. Instead, it’s release date of 2017 was eliminated by Karni Sena. However, censor board is also not taking a grave interest in this matter, money invested in this project by producers, and hard work of actors might go in vain. The same thing happened with Salman Khan’s new movie (Tiger Zinda Hai). It saw a protest by some community, but at a diminishing rate which slowly disappeared.
I am not telling the protest against both these movies are wrong in all ways, but the style of protest seemed to have had involved violent actions and statements. Quite disheartening it is, to see people having issues on a fictionalised piece of work. However, Padmavati is a real story of Rani Padmini.
Now, let’s forget about art, and concentrate on a real issue. Let’s talk about cases of sexual assaults, which without a doubt is humiliation, a shame for humanity. With time, we have developed, but our views haven’t. It has become difficult for any women to feel safe in India. However, they don’t show fear and act bravely (that’s how it should be), but they have it in their mind. A fear of getting landed in an unsafe plain. I say, reading newspapers is becoming heart-rending these days, every day, there are reports of at least two or three physical assault cases against women. It’s not, I can’t shun them. I can do that. But it won’t change the story. It’s the cruel reality, no one can escape.
I had thought I’ll write positive thoughts here but ended up writing two of the most disturbing issues (to me). Politics doesn’t interest me, I like to stay away from it. Perhaps, I know there’s a MODI wave going in India, and he (BJP) has won Gujarat elections (which was obvious).  While reading an article by renowned author Shobha De, I came to know – Rahul Gandhi (Congress) has not lost either, and eventually, was happy to win a decent number of seats in Gujarat. That is what trending nowadays on twitter I guess.
So, I don’t want to stretch this article anymore. Having said what really I wanted to throw out, I should stop here. Before completing, I want to say, don’t live in past. If it was a bad year (in parts or wholly), take it as an experience rather than cursing. You might have lost a lot, but who knows what tomorrow might bring? So, stay hopeful, positive (it’s OK to be down sometimes), and keep living each and every day no matter how much pain it causes! Life is nothing more than experience, live it the way you want. Follow your dreams, work hard, and most importantly believe in yourself. Treat everyone with respect and love. Don’t insult anyone, just be calm and happy.
Happy New Year in advance! I hope next year turns out to be an excellent one for you. Enjoy, work, and live your dreams. Time won't stop. It's moving rapidly. NOW is the time. Go and work, and leave a mark on this planet before going.
Thank you for reading!

Amay Saxena!
